With the odd exception there seems to be a lot of stalling going on (in terms of weight not coming off......) so, what do we do.....???
I think I have an idea for me - the fact I was surprised to be a stay the same (as I will be again tomorrow) despite being convinced I'd be going up which, of course, tells its own story...... get off the food and beer........ and get back out on my bloody bike.....heck, i can only just recall where it is at the moment.
On the plus side, jeans are way looser than when I started, new belt required as i'm on the tightest hole and thats not tight enough..... chin up and al that...

Think you must have missed my mail last week. Lost another 2.5 lbs then. Hoping for another 2 this week, which will put me at 13 St 2 and require me to set a new target 🙂

Just sent my email.

I've stalled for 3 weeks solid. The beer has been flowing on six nations days (all dayers usually around the 10 pint mark), mixed with quiet evenings with the wife and a couple bottles of wine and fine dining. Wifes been cooking up nice deserts recently too. God I need to get out on the bike.

RichPenny - apologies - if you still have tehm forward them again and i'll pick up on it. If not i'll just take this weeks figure if thats ok with you as it will show a marked change (decrease) to bring the figures back into line.....

a run of 10 pint days would see me getting the cold shoulder off the wife, let alone a quiet night in..... IGMC.......

Rich - ignore above instructions - checked back and tis a typo on my part - put you in at 188.5 again (week before last) this week is 186 so figures are back on track - i'll go beat myself with a damp edition of MBR as penance........

I seem to have stalled over the last few weeks. To be honest i am not sure why, I went into it in detail in last weeks report thread, and the same still seems to apply. I think it's the case that weight loss just gets really hard the closer you get to your target weight. Admittedly i have had a few 'off' days where i have been in the pub etc but nothing i wouldn't like to feel i couldn't do as par for the course as part of a normal lifestyle.

Or as someone else put it more succinctly:

"Remember that as you lose weight and activity becomes easier, you will burn fewer calories performing the same activities. Because of this, it will be necessary to eat less and/or become more active if you wish to maintain the same daily calorie deficit and rate of weight loss."

-caloriesperhour.com

The thing is i am not going to starve myself, i.e 1800 calories or less, but the amount of exercise i am doing makes me wonder how much more i would have to do to speed up the whole process. I think my problem is finding the right balance to taking in enough food to both fuel my exercise so i dont pass out and to create a deficit to allow for fat loss.

On the plus side tho i reckon i must be fitter somehow, here is my nike+ results for February so far:

It definitely gets harder as you get towards your target weight. Having lost 16lbs in 7 weeks, I reckon the next 16 to get close to my perfect weight could take as long as 4 months. Without doubt though, if you are doing more excercise and eating healthier you will be adding muscle and reducing fat: this might mean you don't lose weight but get fitter. That's fine by me.

Right, having pizza tommorrow to celebrate hiting my first target 🙂
