Just bought a place that has a double garage with an asbestos roof. What kind of ballpark figure am I looking at to get it removed? Anything I should be looking out for? Ta

why remove it? is it leaking? Asbestos is best left alone, so unless you have to remove it, just leave it?
#edit# the local authority can prob advise disposal routes, and its easy to do with correct procedures and suitable ppe plus water to damp down. there is very little asbestos in cement pannels, not like pipe lagging etc which is a much bigger issue.

Unbroken cement fibre sheeting can be removed by cutting the bolts and removing it intact. Some councils will take it away for free otherwise you will need to find a tip taking it (or a builder with a locking skip who has some space). Tyvek overalls and a good disposable face mask for you and take them off outside and double wrap in plastic to dispose of to landfill. Broken sheet will need more care and possible professional help.

You can do it yourself as long as you can transport the panels. Remove them from the roof trying not to break them (it's the dust that's potentially nasty), double bag them (wrapping in two layers of builders visqeen is OK) and take them to a tip that accepts it - check on your councils web site where they are.
You'll need to book it in to make sure there's space.
I'm having a big barn roof replaced in two weeks, but there's about 3 tons of the stuff so I'm paying for proper lockable skips to take it away costing about £1500 IIRC.
