You're absolutely right. And the fact you've just ridden home into a head wind means you've basically got the right to eat whatever you like - you've earnt it. I'd take on the mozza melts next.

I think you skipped the nutrition class lol

That's bad carbs, not good carbs, and your supposed to eat the good carbs before (sometimes during if doing endurance) ride.

Then feast up on protein after a ride a repair your shredded muscles.

Having provided your body with easily digested carbs in the half hour that followed exercise you'll have replaced the glycogen you used during the ride. That means you'll have no trouble repeating that effort today. If you'd deprived your body of carbs in that vital half hour your ride today would be a stuggle and less effective training.

Whole meal bread dipped in olive oil or filled with dark chocoale and a banana would have been my choice.

It's like reading one of my daughters teen mags sometimes on here with people talking about calories and the latest fad diet

who gives a **** how many calories they've burned on any particular activity? - other than teenage girls?

anyway

had you been properly fueled up in the first place probably wouldn't have had to eat anything afterwards, or maybe just an orange to quench a bit of thirst.
