If so, let's hear it.

I'm suddenly massively excited about leaving this job tomorrow! I'd be worried about jobs but I've got some money in the bank and two interviews next week!

I'm massively exited about team team training tonight.

Weathers going to be perfect and I missed Tuesday's club ride so I'm itching to get out. 😀

The Olympics. I can't wait. I've really embraced it! I'm ded ded excited!!!

TO mark the occassion of a year to go, I've just had a 2 massive digital clocks fitted to the outside of my house. One is a countdown to the start, the other racks up how many billion pounds of taxpayers money has been spunked up the wall

To be honest I really want to start a new job in September. That'll give me time to chill out and hang out with the new kid.

Still, it'll mean more money if I do start straight away tho.

The future ... and not knowing what it will be!

A year ago this uncertainty terrified me - lost my relationship / home / half of my belongings / some friends and for most of the time my dog.

But now I'm exited about not knowing what the future holds - meeting new people, making new friends, discovering new places, breaking down my pre-conceptions, going off doing new activities (mountaineering in the alps in a couple of weeks), and looking for a new home just for me.

Have discovered that massive life changes can be exciting, challenging, and fun 🙂

All the stressful preparations for our move are also now complete I think. Ordered a load of things for last minute change of plan, and they have all arrived in time.

Roof rack for bikes, freeing up load space in the 'van - check
Air suspension to help with towing fully laden - check
Car fixed from accident to satisfaction finally - check
Gas fixed - check
Flat properly clean - check
Caravan fixed - check

All the above paid for by not having to buy flights for Mrs Grips and her folks. I hope they like camping!

binners - I am cleaning up spring vegetable soup.

That post was FaF!

It reminded me of a massive digital clock that was submerged in the Liffy in the middle of Dublin. It was counting down to the millenium.

Your description of how taxpayers' money had been utilised that cause the soup leak 😆

I've had a pretty good year so far and it's suddenly got a ton better. After a couple of years of being skint (1 income for family of 4 - 2 little uns one after the other) this year we've moved to a big house (well big in my book anyway) and my wife has just scored the most amazing job. Our income has more than doubled, my mum has moved to the same town (lots of help with the kids) and my work have finally put me on an 8k training course which means I'll be working as a part time consultant in the next 3 years. It's been a hard slog for a few years up til now. And that is putting it mildly. This time last year I remember going to the supermarket after 8pm when they discount stuff and buying bread for 10p and bananas that were on the turn because that's all we could afford. Apart from commuting I didn't have the time, energy or money to ride for fun. Now I've recently got, and been able to ride, a brilliant road bike and am about to pull the trigger on some rebas for my 29er and a new full suss. Probably sounds like cock waving, sorry for that.

I'm excited about the future. I feel that in my small world I've earned it (or actually my wife has 🙂 )

Thanks molgrips. Is this your second child that's imminent?

yosarrian - that's great! Sounds as though you've had a tough time and now have a well-earned break.

It is an amazing thing not having to get up at 5, work all day, clean up all evening, queue up for the cheap shite, get no sleep AND be totally penniless. It's lucky i do gallows humour. 🙂

Riding tonight and also got a bit of a massive ride which is all coming together nicely. Round the Isle of Wight offroad in a day, sticking to the coastline as much as possible on ROWs, cheeky trails a necessity!

Yoss it is. (see what I did there? 🙂 )

Will be much less trepidation on my part so I should find it more fun I think. Plus Lil Grips MkI is going to be chuffed to bits I think 🙂

Also excited about returning to Blighty. Fish, chips, cup o'tea, Mary f'in Poppins.. curry, wine gums.. mm..

Oh and local MTBing! Really looking forward to a warm afternoon raz around the woods.. yeah 🙂

All the basic stuff is much easier with no. 2 and I reckon they are a lot more relaxed because you are.

Your eldest is about to get a proper best mate which is so brilliant for kids when they are little.

I'm moderately excited about going on holiday to the lakes in a couple of weeks, but this is tempered by the wife being in a grump with me and her leg playing up (and so may need further surgery).

Not what you need before a walking/cycling holiday in the Lakes...

Big promotion on the 16th September. Right out of my comfort zone (see how I'm getting all the corporate bollocks nailed now) but I always did like a challenge. Very excited about that.

Also, I'm just sorting out the design for my first Tattoo.

So....

IT Manager - check
Mid forties tattoo - Check

All I need to do now is stop riding my bike all the time and I can call myself a proper STWer.

I am utterly excited about spending the weekend with my wife sans children - they are being dropped off at the grand parents' on Saturday morning and we are collecting them on Sunday evening. It will be the first night we have had alone in over two years so a day of shopping, eating, drinking and whatever else we still have the energy to do in the evening followed by a lie in on Sunday (although we will naturally wake at 6am as we are so used to it...).

Excited for my friends' theatre company, taking their 3rd show up to Edinburgh this year, on the back of awards for the first two. Saw a preview last night and it's flippin amazing.

Excited about a weekend's climbing in the Wye Valley this weekend, maybe a lap round Cwmcarn too.

Excited about having gf back on Sunday from 2 weeks in Uganda.

And about leaving the office in a minute to meet a mate for a beer or 3. He's off to live with/film/document the Amish in the states for a month.

Third date with a girl I like slightly too much considering she is leaving the country in about 4 days time, at least I won't have time to cock anything up!

New CX bike on its way.

Fortnight's holiday in September with only one week currently planned (8 days trekking in Knoydart...)

Two weekends hiking coming up, followed hopefully by a cessation in back problems resulting in more riding and ultimately the Bealach Mor sportive.

Looks like a good few months (especially if said girl returns in October once I've got my summer's biking and hiking out the system 8) )
