Believe it or not, someone has seen my giant purple seahorse and asked me to do something similar for their garden. I have another sleeper so could do another seahorse.

I asked the lady if she definitely wanted a seahorse or perhaps something different. She asked what else I could carve out of a railway sleeper.

I suggested a 5 foot Stunt Cock but she said she was already married to one of those......

I will probably just do another seahorse unless someone on here can give me inspiration for something different. Just remember the relative dimensions of the wood - about 1200mm feet long but 200mm x 120mm profile

Totem pole - too damn complex. I only have the one wood grinder bit for the angle grinder.

Snake on hind legs has made me think of the Christian fish with legs, that might work as the lady is devoutly not a God botherer

Gloria from Madagascar. - probably not enough girth on the wood to do Gloria justice but you have reminded me of a mermaid which might be possible

What about a tall bird? I mean a crane, heron or egret, not a human bird.

I like this a lot (although it looks a big job)

It has now been decreed that I do want to do a seahorse.

I like the deer though, I am trying a bit of deep engraving but need better timber than end grain oak to get any real detail

The angle of that manhole cover is deeply unsettling.

I like that. Though I can't believe it took you 51 attempts before you got it right.
