pay?
How recent is recent?
If you didnt follow the basic instructions "email in my profile for more info. "
then dont apply 😉
... because wasting your personal time isn't important to your prospective future employer.
Are you allowed to look for "recent" graduates. Isn't that age discrimination?
Also, IME if the salary for a graduate job isn't in the ad then it's because it's low.
Read: Graduate. Not Engineering Graduate.
The job is using AUTOCAD, Excel, Word to create layout designs for conveyor systems, price and prepare quotes.
Does that include [s]surfing[/s] research on STW? 😆
are you expecting a plane to be able to take of on the conveyor in question?
Are you allowed to look for "recent" graduates. Isn't that age discrimination?
We do not discriminate at all on the age of Graduate, they could be a 50 year old recent graduate. The role is though an entry level development role that would not suite a more mature graduate with many years of experience that would deserve a higher package.
Also, IME if the salary for a graduate job isn't in the ad then it's because it's low.
We decided to keep that off the forum as a person from the forum may take the job and not want his/her salery known to other forum members in the future.
To make it clear.. If you want further information about the role then please email me.
thanks.
not a graduate of engineering, but have a HNC
I'll e-mail you my CV
Simon when you say the role would not suit a mature graduate with more experience then that is most definitley age discrimination because you're making an assumption as to who is suitable based on age. It may be that more mature/experienced candidates wouldn't want the role for those reasons but it's not for the potential employer to decide.
I suspect that this is probably what you meant and I'm not intending to criticise just advise. I think it's great that you've got a very open development policy and forward thinking recruitment strategy.
Nope, its not age discrimination at all, merly that its a lower starting wage that somene with more experience would deserve.
Crikey.... I guess I'll have to stick to the usual blood sucking agencies for trying to give someone a job with real development prospects...
looks like I'm too old then 🙁
geetee..
We do not discriminate at all on the age of Graduate, they could be a 50 year old recent graduate.
and he then gives his reasons for why it may not be 'accepted' by someone older...jees he's only trying to help..
You got any jobs for whining pedantic tossers? Seems to be a few suitable candidates on here...
Scotia - you've got a point; after I wrote it I reflected that how I'd worded it was wrong. I agree with your sentiment (some people were being similarly dismissive), and I wasn't aiming to be critical but my point is still this:
If you have in your mind that the job would not be right for someone older because of their experience and salary expectations you should need to be careful that you don't allow that to influence your decision because that would be discrimination.
jeez, what a load of t*ssers. if it weren't for the cancer and the fact i have a job i'd apply simonm. shame but hey ho.
Si, would it suit an out of work Architect who can only manage 3 days a week from september?
Hi Nick, how're things? I hope things are looking a bit better. Can kate or I do anything?
Paul
cheers paul, ygm!
Is the company Peak 42?
