It’s coming up to upgrade time and I was wondering about the oppo phones and would like to know if anyone on here has one and would you rate them. I’ve currently got a Huawei and was thinking of the iPhone as I previously had one and liked it or give Samsung a go.
Oppo, Realme and OnePlus are all part of the same company and are good handsets.
Regarding Samsung, they have cleaned up their act a lot with Android and don't mess about with it half as much as they used to and are promising longer upgrade programmes for the OS. They were losing a lot of sales to Huawei/Honor so I think they've added models, cut prices and upped specs to "stick the boot in" while Huawei are on the ropes.
I upgraded from a Google Pixel 2XL to an Oppo Find X2 Pro a couple of months ago.
The display is much better and it is quicker than my old phone, but I must admit that I liked quite a few of the 2XL's features and programs.
I miss 'now playing' and the LED up in the top right hand corner of the screen that indicated if you had received a message or notification.
A phone with the best bits of each phone would be great!
Better half bought an A9 2020 recently, the 5000mAh battery lasts for days.
Pleased with mine

His reviews are very good
I had one for a couple of years, the Reno. It was reasonable enough and cheap to buy new.
I will say however that I ran Nova on mine as I really didn't like the overlay of ColorOS.
Last week I sent it to Music Magpie and got myself a Galaxy S10 plus instead, mostly because I was wanting to experiment with lenses that I could attach to the phone and it couldn't be done with the Oppo
I bought my wife the latest Oppo Reno, and it's lovely. Really nice quality screen, cameras are as good at latest series Samsung, super sharp and bright.
The ColourOS is a pretty lightly themed Android OS, a bit like Cyanogen.
The hardware feels quality, the pop-up camera looks like a gimmick, but it's brilliant. Facial recognition is incredibly quick.
I've been a OnePlus user since the 3t, and it'll definitely be between an 8t / 9 and the latest Reno next year for me.
Although Oppo, OnePlus and a handful of other brands are owned by BBK - it's just an umbrella group, different design teams, engineers and manufacturing plants. It's not like they're just the same rebadged generic handset.
