Well clearly not. But is it worth the extra cash for the stormforce ones? Generic ones seem to be about 50 quid. Posh ones a bit more than double that that. It's parked off rad in a pretty sheltered area. Won't use it in the summer so doesn't need to be quick fitting.

It's for our mx5 roadster which I'm going to SORN until April. On that note is it worth disconnecting the battery? anything else? Ta.

I think the difference is in moisture management? A cheap one could end up being damp inside due to condensation and thus will possibly not do the car any good, whereas a more expensive one reduces condensation so is better for the car.

Happy to be proved wrong...

I think that it’s not just in moisture management but also how well fitting they are. Outside any loose cover is likely to flap and possibly damage the car. I have a fitted cover for my garaged car and it fits really well.

careful as you can end up with lacquer damage due to trapped moisture.

tbh I am not sure I would bother and just keep the car clean.

As for the battery if you do remove it then keep it topped up with a trickle charger. If you don't remove it then also do this.
