The last day of term for many will be the first of April, too good to be true.

What ideas do you have/ have you seen in the past for April Fools to use in school?

Your school has been chosen by the government to try a new type of covid testing. Everybody needs to take an anal swab test.

Won't it rather depend on the age of the kids?

A no egg easteregg hunt would be epic.

Staff room can run a book on items such as.

1st pupil to call bullshit
Pupil most likely to actually find an egg.

3rd the pupil who actually is still looking when everyone has gone home.

More entertainment and perpetuation can be achieved if staff join in and "find" one occasionally.

Age - secondary

Matt for the win so far. I asked a class if anyone knew who William Shatner was on Friday....silence. But if they'd named a current celebrity I too may have looked blank. Suggestions for (non current football) celebrities?

Some 'interesting' ideas from others, but not suitable for school...you'd be fired+more

Start the day with a lesson about global IT conspiracy where the big companies are deliberately changing the time on all the phones and computrers so people try to leave school early and spend more time on line.

Just keep turning the clocks back at break so by 3:30pm, or whenever home time is, the clock is showing 2:15 and the kids think the days are dragging. When they check their phones / computers you can just remind them what you said in the morning.

Your school is partnering with a well known public school in an effort to raise standards. A benefit of this partnership will be a grant from the public school for new uniforms for all. Everyone will be receiving a free new uniform for next term. Show pictures of suitably rediculous toffy school uniforms.

School has a new Mascot - which several teachers dress up as at break time and undertake playground duty.

School has a new school song - made up fanciful history of the school which plays as voiced Powerpoint to all at morning form.

Education recovery Tsar Sir Kev Collins has chosen the school to pilot 3 week summer school catch up for all staff and students. Terminal examination result might result in resitting a year.

Gavin Williamson has reinstated summer examinations given the "Outstanding" vaccination roll out. Schools are to use the Exam boards mini assessments being issued this week. Students and staff have two weeks to revise and timetable.

Our ever so slightly psychotic chemistry teacher (who would get out 'Horris the Bunsen flex' for any unfortunate students who upset him). On April 1st once, when doing a demonstration smashed a conical flask and had some red substance that he smeared all over his hands to make it look like he was mortally wounded.

Horris the Bunsen flex

Is that a euphemism?
