What other Apps are worth looking at?

Not sure if there is a need for it in kayaking - but MotionX GPS is a great map, compass, waypoint-based GPS and route tracker.

And Endomondo (or similar) is useful for tracking exercise.

Peaks is quite a good one, for naming mountains you can see.
