Travelling to nearby Dufton for a friends 40th tomorrow, need a bite to eat at 5pm(ish) for 2 adults and a toddler. Dufton pub doesn't serve food till after 6 which will be too late for the small chap. Thought we might nip down the road to Appleton for tea before the party, anyone recommend anywhere good?

No help whatsoever, plus it's about 12 years since I stayed in Dufton, but what a stunning part of the country 🙂

Used to live next to Temple Sowerby House hotel - that was ace for meals, if pricey back in the day.

Get there earlier and go to Appleby Bakery, bit pricy but really good pies.

On a more sensible sit down idea, there's a few Pubs in Appleby and I think there's either a Chinese or Indian restaurant.

Not too sure as I only go at Fair time and missed last years.
