I have a 2nd Gen Apple TV. Up until this week I needed to have Itunes open and the Mac switched on to watch stuff in my Itunes library. For some reason I can now watch stuff that is supposedly being streamed from my Mac while it is switched off. How the hell is that even possible given that the Apple TV has no inbuilt storage?
Seems that if I force quit itunes the apple tv will still stream with the mac off, but if itunes is open then nothing streams if i close the mac.

I have found an answer. Turns out the apple tv which has no storage in it actually has 8gb inside it.
Well that's no fun
