just had an email purporting to be from Apple in normal inbox not junk, saying someone had used my Apple ID to download a game, which I clearly hadn't . Had a look at the link included which seemed to be an Apple page but with a pop up asking for all my details including card that didn't look very kosher. Checked bank account but no cash seems to have gone.
Anybody encountered this one before and is there any chance it could be genuine?
Sounds stinky to me. I think that the moment they start asking for card details you can assume its dodgy as hell.
Put some fake card details in and see what happens.

Never do this.
If you get an email which you think might be genuine (and if you have to ask, it almost certainly isn't), go to the relevant site by typing apple.com or whatever manually into the address bar or using bookmarks you know to be safe. There are many ways a rogue link can be obfuscated, all of which can be bypassed by you by not clicking on them in the first place.
Cheers , guys, in the bin it goes.
Had the same last week, ignored it.
I had one earlier too. Ignored it but planned on checking my bank account just in case.
