You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Hello,
My old MBP needs a clean install of the O/S and a thorough digital decluttering. I have an up-to-date Time Capsule back-up, and a Mac Mini (same era as the MBP) that I would like to install the 'arsebundle on to do the decluttering with a big screen...
It means I can do a clean install on the MBP and only add back in what I really want/need.
Is this a sensible plan? Where is my thinking flawed?
Thanks.
Well if I understood what you meant by arsebundle perhaps I could help.
The snapshot/back-up file created by the Time Machine and Time Capsule function is called the Sparse Bundle...
Well well, every day is a school day.
Short answer - dunno. Sorry.
Ive used a timecapsule image to selectively restore from before. And from one mac to another. I think I’ve done different os releases but always various laptops.
From memory you get quiet a lot of control about what is restored. The os install on the target mac manages the hardware etc so the restore is in effect just files. You should be able to do the selection dorectly on the macbook removing the mini
I’m only here to find out what an “arsebundle” is. Really not sure what I expected but it wasn’t what it is.
