It's time for some new headphones unfortunately as my Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 are now 5 years old and rather worn out, battery wise and physically. As I'm entering the Apple universe with the iPhone 13 Pro Max these kind of make sense. They get great reviews but are rather spendy

Has anyone tried them? Are they really the step above the Sony WH 1000XM4 that they are being touted as? Or am I better off sticking to the Sony?

Primarily my headphones get used indoors at home and at work in a common room, very little outdoor use as I have bone conduction headphones for running, walking to work and use in the yard (coach company) so I can hear what's going on around me. I know noise cancelling on the Apple and the Sony headphones is near flawless so more interested in the sound quality and surround sound effect they offer

No, but I'd like to.

Apple Music now offers Dolby Atmos, AirPod seem to be the only pod type headphone that are compatible... although I'd rather some with a sports band.

Wowzers, huge apple fan and user but have to wonder whether the difference is noticeable compared to the generally owned Bose QC35s.

Good read.

Shame they look gopping! For that reason alone, I think I'll pass....

A pair of which are on my head right now! According to that review above, you would notice the difference.

Would the difference be noticeable because I'd be £200 lighter? I wonder if I was actually blindfolded and didn't know I had £500 worth on my head whether I'd be able to tell. Similarly to getting to the bottom of a descent and seeing the fact it was locked out the whole time and of course immediately it was noticeable!

Bought a pair for my other half for Valentine’s Day this year (I know aren’t I lovely). They’re amazing. ANC is way beyond my Sennheisers and the sound quality is equally good, perhaps a little harder as my Momentum 3’s are nice and “warm” (I think that’s what the Hi Fi police call it).

Stupidly expensive though. And as per every review the case is ridiculous.

Do Apple own Beats nowadays? or am I just making that up?

Anyway, I've a set of AirPod Pro's and they're brilliant, although in the wrong category now I've clicked on your link.

If you use them a lot then going on that link they're worth it. But for that kind of cash I'd recommend popping to your local Apple store to hear them for yourself (which I presume you can do if they want that much for them), along with doing the same with the competitors and then making your own mind up. It's your ears/head so while reviews are useful, you need to know what they're like to actually wear.

They bought Beats in 2014. I've tried a pair of Beats Solo and hated them. Not tried the Studio but I'm really not keen on the looks of Beats headphones. They also feel very plasticy. If the sound quality was rated as highly as the Sony or Apple then I would still consider them but reviews have never been fantastic for Beats headphones.
