Police are appealing for information after a man used a concrete block and at a toilet seat lid to try to break into a pub in Coleford.
The man is believed to have attempted to smash the back doors of the building in Market Place some time between 4am and 9.30am yesterday (Wednesday January 16).
When he failed with the concrete block he returned a second time to try and prise a door open with a toilet lid. Again he wasn't successful and finally gave up.
PC Michelle Screen said: “I would like to speak to anyone who was in the area of St John Street in Coleford between the hours of 4am and 5am.
“It is believed there may have been some members of the public in the area that saw a man acting suspiciously.
“The suspect is described as white, of medium build, wearing a long, light coloured coat, white trousers and possibly carrying something.”
Anyone who may have information should call 101, quoting incident 84 of January 16.
