Quite a number of people have told me in the past week or so that, when they speak to me on the phone, they can hear their own voice echoing back strongly. This seems to happen whether they ring me or I ring them. Not every call, but a high proportion.

Anything I can do/check/try to sort it?

Sony phone on EE, if that matters.

does it do it if you wear headphones? if it does, no idea.. if not try turning down the volume on the speaker a bit when on a call. The speaker could be bleeding into your phone mic..

Nope, just when using it 'normal'. I'll try the speaker thing, to be fair it is loud-mouthed estate agents who've mostly been the complainers, the softly-spoken mortgage fella didn't seem to have a problem.

Is the phone in a case? My friend had similar and the cause was the case.

Obvious question, have you tried a restart? Echoey phone could also be the line quality... also try clearing the phones cache... My (admittedly brand new) Sony phone on O2 is fine (well no one has complained)

Not in a case, and it's been restarted since the first lot complained, still doing it.

also try clearing the phones cache…

What, all of it? Seems a bit OTT

Check there's nothing blocking microphone holes, there's probably multiple depending on phone.
