I sometimes use the treadmill in the gym at work (ie, inside the ship).
I’ve yet to find an app that will do this:
Track my heart rate off my Wahoo Tickr while I run, then allow me to tell it how for I have run when finished.
The treadmills we have are all ‘dumb’ ie no bluetoothy wirelessy cleverness.
All the running apps seem to need a GPS signal.
Any idea?
How far isn't going to happen from a tickr and a dumb trainer without more kit.
Foot pods work although I've not used one since polar footpods were a thing for the s725x watch
Garmin foreunners will estimate off stride length.
Garmin watches can work pretty well on a treadmill. It can be surprisingly accurate, considering it is just measuring on your arm. You can calibrate it based on the treadmill distance.
Though could depend on your running style, how much you move your arms etc. I might try a footpod, to see if its any better.
Why not just track your HR in Garmin connect.....then manually add in the distance off the treadmill ?
Garmin watches learn your stride based on. Your arm movements Vs GPS in the real world runs I find them to be quite accurate -based on my real world times to cover similar distances at a given effort Vs what the treadmill says I've done.... But so long as your using the same machine your comparing apples with apples.
As above, I find my Garmin watch pretty accurate on the treadmill.
