Quick apology to anyone who recieved a message from my yahoo account,(the one I have on my profile here) as it seems to have been hacked, a message sent and then my contacts deleted so I can't send another message apologising

I'm not alone it seems:
http://windowslivehelp.com/thread.aspx?postid=d1ab1aff-af42-4a0b-87b7-c755dac2c4f4#d1ab1aff-af42-4a0b-87b7-c755dac2c4f4

So I've reset my password (better length and security) and resported the issue to yahoo, but am also looking for an explaination.
I haven't used this email account on a computer in months (and only at work in a corp enviroment with reasonable security), I use it purely on my iphone, so I doubt I've had my password harvested in any way.
How this likely to have been done, purely a brute force password attack?

I've had the same thing on Yahoo! but my contacts weren't deleted..

I've changed my password too, I use my account all the time, both for email and for signing into Flickr..

As a matter of interest, was your Yahoo! password the same as the one you use here? Mine was... 😕
