There are loads of bees on my lawn they look grey and black. It looks like they are coming out of the ground what is this all about is there anything I can do to get them to go anywhere else?
Frighten them away.
Wait until it's really quiet and suddenly run round your lawn whilst waving your arms and repeatedly yelling....
"BOOO! ... BEES!"
Post video.
If they're bees leave them, please, they really are a threatened species in the wild. If they've found a way of living in a crack in your lawn don;t mow that bit and enjoy the drone of busy bees on a sunny day when you're sat at.
my wife is allergic to bee stings and I have no desire to test if the kids are as well. I was hoping there is a way to get them to leave instead of nuking them from orbit.
I would suggest leaving well alone... however you could dampen down the ground gradually as burrowing bees need relatively dry ground.
try a sprinkler set low for a few days to encourage them to relocate.
karma wise you’ll need to find some other way to balance things out...... how about some swallow nesting boxes as they are partial to bees
Leave them be. They'll not hurt you and they will be one of the many solitary or small colony bees rather than the 100,000 odd in each of the hives here. Even with quarter of a million honeybees I got one sting last year...
