I have found a Sim only deal on Vodaphone for lots of mins, data and texts for £8.50 via a recurring cashback.
You pay the full amount of £19.50 or whatever the actual plan cost per month is then every 2 months you submit your bills and you get £27 back.
Has anyone got experience of this type of deal? Are there many criteria you need to fulfill or is it just really as simple as sending your bills.
The plan looks great and is a few £ per month cheaper than its nearest rival. Its just I would like to know if there is an easy way the company can wiggle out of paying the cash back!
I have been put off those deals in the past as I have heard the companies can wriggle out of giving you the cash back any way they can. Not sure if it's any different nowadays or if any companies are better than others but I wouldn't bother. I always wonder why they don't just make it cheaper in the first place?
Yeah that's my worry too, I have always been up off them too. I think I will not risk it.
Yep,
I've had a fair few of these over the years from various companies. Keep on top of what you have to do to get your cashback as they like to shift the goalposts IME, send your bills recorded if they need physical copies.
Vodafone is great for calls and texting but if you plan on trying to use the data bit then forget about Vodafone - it's got the smallest and slowest data network and as a result consistently comes last in most nation wide tests of data availability and speed. It also now has the highest level of coverage related customer complaints out of the main operators.
I have found the best data only deal to be with Virgin (who use the EE network). I pay £12 a month for a 1gig data plan without any contract so i can and will reduce this once i work out how much i actually need. I wouldn't go near the cash back options - border line scam imo.
Had those in the past, as long as you keep up to their requirements of bill submission then you'll be fine.
Is a faff though and o just use giffgaff for personal phone now.
I think they bank on the fact a lot of people will forget to claim the cash.
