[Closed] Anyone work for a courier ... Dimension weight question...

So I boxed up a frame to courier to the uk. Got the dimensions and it weighed 5kg all up.

Got a quote for 5kg, post code to post code, €40. Dolled to the booking and after entering the details, it came out at €87 for 29kg This is because its calculated as a Dimension Weight.

So, beside the jump in price can anyone explain the dimension weight thing.... Or is the best value sending very heavy dense things like a Black Hole for instance...

They are basing it on volumetric weight. it's light but large so takes up alot of space so they are charging you for what it "would" weigh if it was a parcel o that size :/
