Poor sod. How long has this afflicted you for? I was at Uni with a rabid fan, sadly lost touch now. But he used to drag me all over the place including memorably being persuaded into a trip to Field Mill (from Durham) on a Tuesday night, in the sort of rain where it's not heavy but you end up soaked in about 4 seconds, for a 0-0 draw, and then a car breakdown, where the breakdown couldn't get us all back so muggins here ended up being slung on a train in soaking wet jeans and got back at gone midnight considerably poorer than when I left.

@theothejonv  Since the early 70's as my Dad hated football so would only take my brother & me down the road to watch CFC. There have been many downs and not so many ups in that time, but what can you do?  I have many similar stories of regret as yours. Love it though and I'll never stop going.

Saw my first Wrexham match in 1968 and seen many games over the intervening years including the recent 5-5 against Swindon. The impact it has had on the town (it will always be The Town to most people) is nothing short of amazing. Kids are no longer walking around wearing Utd, Liverpool, Everton etc shirts but wearing the Wrexham shirt with pride - 24,000 were sold last season.

S2E2 on autism was the best so far

@kendo - if you've followed them home and away through the 80's and 90's do you know Chris Brannam

He was teaching in the UK and then went over to France afaik.

Heh. As a Salopian I am very much in the same coracle 😅

I mean, good luck to them and all, but just don't go getting into the premiership!!

Haven't seen Season 2 but loved Season 1.

I don't watch much footy these days and the wife isn't interested in it but we both really enjoyed it.

Sorry, but I don't know the name, but let's be honest, with only a couple of thousand regulars, there's a good chance I'll know his face

To be fair, I'm much like doris5000 in that I wish them all the best, but really hope league 1 is as high as they climb.

I have no interest in football nor has mrsfoo but we both enjoyed S1 and will watch S2 maybe in binge mode or at least when most episodes are released.

It's interesting. I find the fascinating bit is the development of the club itself as this is the bit they are really trying not to talk about too much. And yes it's good for the town to have a successful club. Will be interesting to see how far they get, if Brentford can get into the top flight it's not impossible for Wrexham to do so, but it's a big jump from div 1 to championship and then another big jump even to get in the prem...

Another key thread in S2 will be the development of the women’s team so as Ed points out the story is much more than trying to get out of the NL.

But based on the result on Saturday the PL is a long, long way off.

Just blitzed 4-5 episodes last night. Good for a football programme. Felt a bit sorry for the original manager/half the team, but hey ho.

If you like W2W check out Bunch of Amateurs on YouTube. Fly on the wall about Dorking Wanderers with their larger than life founder and current manager Marc White who comes out with some absolute crackers - "At 2-0 do you seriously want to give this lot a nick? Don't pass to anyone back to goal. You know it in advance. It's like sending your bird to a ****** ex-boyfriends house for the night. Seriously. You know what's gonna happen"
