We have the 'soft launch' event for the new 4Cross track at Freespace, Eastleigh on Sunday. It was going to be a race day but the weather has prevented that as the track will not be race ready in time. We have changed it to a Fun Day so people can still ride the track but not have official races. We also have an airbag if you want to practice your back flips etc, sell merch and have a raffle to help pay for the work we are doing and have general information and listen to you about what you want sessions.

For a variety of reasons we are suddenly a few helpers short of a great day. We need people to help in the car park, help watch the airbag, help watch the track, er, generally help.

A few hours of help between 10am and 4pm and the rest of the day free to have fun?

Anyone who wants to help me out, please PM me. We can probably arrange the hours around your availability

The event in cancelled due to the weather meaning the track is too soft and muddy. We don't want a full race event to rip and rut the surface.

I will still be there, sheltering in the container with one of our demo bikes and lots of information about what is planned if you do still want to turn up. You can even bring a bike and try the track, or at least the drier bits of it.

Was really hoping for an 'Are you bored enough to watch me attempt a double backflip onto an airbag' video.

From about 2:30 in this clip is the airbag day at Southampton Bike Park a little earlier in the year :

I look a lot younger, and better, in this video and you can't tell it is not me because of the full face helmet.

If you want to head down to Southampton there is Southampton Bike Park and about 500m away there is Lordswood for singletrack and about 1/2 a mile from that the new Southern4X track.

WCA.

You are an inspiration.

But having said that, i am sort of glad you guys have called it off due to the weather. I would have loved to have helped but the distance AND the weather was holding me back somewhat from jumping in early.

This has given me every reason to respond positively'next time' you shout out.

Thanks - you are welcome down anytime. I only live 800m from Southampton Bike Park so happy to show you round. Might have to wait until after my knee op. I kind of wish I hadn't delayed that so I could host the 4X now.

Haven't ridden over that way since I was a student in the mid 90s despite it being 4 miles from the office. Seen the amazing work you've done with the place online though.

Really needs a pedal up after work when the light evenings return.
