Anyone used one of those kitchen cupboard door replacement companies?

And if so, who, and were they any good?

I used a company called hotdoors.co.uk and although the name is naff the quality and finish was excellent. I had 9 cupboards and 4 drawers changed for less than £500. Measure up at 3 times and arrived back all cut exactly to size. Less than hour to fit and look great.

I chose them as original cupboards where custom width and they paint the whole doors. Some custom size replacement doors from other companies come with a plastic edge which I didn’t like.

I design and fit bedroom and kitchen furniture. I get all my doors from Hills Panel Products. Their consumer-facing website is A Unique Choice
They have ranges of "standard" sized doors but more relevantly to my work their Aspire range comes in dozens of styles and dozens of finishes, each of which can be specified to the millimetre (height and width) and the hinge holes can also be specified to the millimetre.
I've done a couple of door replacements for customers - entire kitchens and in both cases there was a real mish-mash of sizes (some 496 high, some 497 etc.) and hinge placements. They both worked out really well - I also replaced some end panels and plinths to get a total new look.

A typical cupboard door, drilled, costs me less than £30.

If I were you, I'd phone up Hills and ask who is one of the small kitchen fitters in your area they supply and give them a call. You need an account to get the best prices and you'd be surprised just how hard it is to measure the sizes you need.

Give me a shout if you need it. I'm in Stafford.

@Bigjohn - Thanks. I don't suppose you fancy some work near Stockport do you?

No, but Hills are in Oldham so there'll be plenty of small fitters close to you. Their people are dead friendly and helpful. If you tell them what you want I'm sure they'll be able to recommend someone.

£30 a door?

Jeez at that price it'll be cheaper for me to pay you to fly to Ireland to measure up, order in the UK and for me to get the ferry to bring the doors back.

It's €100 a door minimum here.

Oooh this may be useful as we're thinking of making changes which would result in extra units being added, so ideally we'd like doors to match what we have right now. Will check out those links thanks @bigjohn. Were not far from @ihn if a couple of jobs in the same area might tempt you. Plenty of good riding round here too...

No, can't be tempted, sorry. But if you're struggling to find a fitter I'll ask my account manager to ask her counterpart to recommend one.

I looked into it and found it wasn’t much cheaper than having a whole new kitchen
