Like a Santander bike hire scheme, there's a bike point right next to the hotel. Tried signing up yesterday (leaning heavily on Google Translate...) - it needs an IBAN code rather than card number but got that from my banking app, went through all tje sign up and at the end it says "we've sent you an email, click the link to complete". No email in any folder, including junk and spam, no money taken - can you not sign up if you're a dirty foreigner or some thing? Anyone successfully used them?

Update - use the app, don't do it online. 🙂 The app's pretty good, bikes are ok, comfy and roll fine, like the phone holder and basket. Brakes not so hot, seat post clamp is tight but the seat post on mine was slathered in oil and would twist and drop in the frame under exertion. An annoyance, but I'm otherwise happy. 🙂

I didn't use hire bikes from the street, but we had a week using loaner bikes at a conference recently. I bloody love Belgian cycling and walking infrastructure, and drivers while not perfect are just so much more aware and chilled around bikes.

And I like their beer.
