Looking at getting one of these tent style travel cots due to space being a premium in our car. What are your opinions of them in use?

We had a littlelife one (similar to LittleLife Arc-4 Travel Cot) and used it extensively in a 4 week trip round NZ and weekends camping. Found it very useful and adaptable (Side (for use in a bunkbed and campervan over cab) and top loading as required). Easy to set up and pack. Its for sale if your interested, I can get details tonight.

We have a Little-life one, I don't think they do it any more but it was a rectangular affair with mesh sides and roof. It's had tons of use being far more portable than a full on carrycot - going to peoples houses and hotels and whatnot. It was a bit of a faff to erect though with 6 poles, but I notice that they don't make it any more and the newer ones are mostly 2 or 3 pole designs.

It's been brilliant for everything, not just camping.. especially because of the small size and weight. And when camping you can put it up in the shade outside and your nipper can take afternoon naps away from the nuclear heat of a tent in sunshine.

We have a littlelife 3 pole afair, which is great, especially as it takes up nearly no space in the car, puts up in about 3 mins, can be used as a tent in the summer, but once they learn how a zip works can escape fairly easily... used it quite a lot until our first was about 2 and was trying to get it to roll over to get out.

We have a LittleLife thing that has 3 poles - sort of erects like a hexagon - been superb...very lightweight and can be put up/down in about 2 minutes. Daughter seems to like it but recently discovered a small glitch with it now - if she wakes up she gets up and walks around...so the fix is to remember to close the door and the roof space - she is tall enough to stick up through the roof now so will try to climb out...wee mentalist.

It's been a great piece of kit for us...would highly recommend it...perhaps not just that particular product but that type of travel cot - more a tent that folds away to a very small size and is very portable. Really good.
