Just bought a new network amp and I’m after some help with the Yamaha app
Been using MusicCast for a couple of years. What the problem?
Yep, I've now got an Amp, 2 streaming boxes and 2 Musiccast speakers (as a stereo pair) around the house. So getting better at being able to answer questions on these.
Interesting observation this week with the stereo pair is that the centre/balance doesn't seem to be consistent between them, so at times, especially with radio and DJ's chattering, the focus of the centre of the sounds moves between the channels, very odd!
yep, also use it here. wassup?
Use it here as well👍
I’m trying to use my Tidal account via the music cast app. For some reason none of my playlists are in the music cast version?? Any idea how to find them.
not sure how to resolve it, but i have a similar problem with deezer. in the end i found it easier to use deezer from my phone with all my favourites, and then cast to my chromecast audio which lives in aux 2 on the amp.
I can do the same with AirPlay but it doesn’t really solve the issue properly because the whole idea of having a TIDAL account is for the high quality streaming. I I want to stream the music direct from the router to the network amp and only use my phone as an interface. Which I can do but it means having to make all my playlists again which sounds like a really shit option
Don't use the MusicCast app much, except when linking devices. Mostly just go through my music subscription app (Spotify) and play to chosen device. Even if I go out, the system will keep playing what I've picked until it finishes or someone else changes it.
Does it import all the Spotify playlists?
To the playlist menu in the MusicCast app?
No, but I've not asked it either, so don't know.
I tend to browse around more, so not had a great need to set up any regular playlists. I have set presets for Internet radio, but that's about it.
Think playlists in the app may just be for if you have a media server connected?

This. You open the, for me Spotify app, to play your playlists. I'd imagine it's the same for tidal. Then you just control the music vis your phone and they mussiccast app handles where it's playing.
Hi, sorry for the thread hijack, but I've been looking at the Yamaha steaming/network amps and would love to get some feedback on which model you've bought and how you're finding it.
Thanks
I’ve got the RN 803D, I love it. You can play pretty much anything through it, I listen to net radio a lot and the quality is excellent. It works seemlessly with Spotify but as far as I can tell if you use Tidal you have to use it via the Yamaha Music Cast app which isn’t as good as the Tidal app itself. It also looks very cool if you like the big, old school components.
Thanks for the feedback, great to hear. I've been looking at the RN 303d. Want to try it out with some speakers I have, but love the old school looks!
