If you're a trader is it worth paying for the leads? Do you get decent work out of it?

As a client....we're you happy with the whole experience?

I can vouch for mybuilder.com, it's a mate's site.

If you are a good Trader, why would you need these sites to prove your credentials?
If anything, Trustmark should be the one to go for if any.
The others all seem to want money to get work through them, or take an upfront fee to get your name on the list.
I could go for Trustmark, but I just CBA paying £100+ extra each year and have to fill in loads more forms.

Personal recommendations are the best way to get a Trader to do work for you.

Most of them charge a fee to the tradesman and some a percecntage of the work done, its just another form of advertising for work.

I used one once here in Belgium. It was the usual pre-vetted, only trusted blag blah blah. Work was terrible and they tried to charge us way too much (we we got reduced).

Similar experience with a restaurant website - the 'reviews' were vetted to only good ones got through

Don't trust them any more as a client 🙁

I use free index for my business and your listing position is based on how many customer reviews you have. I also used it to find a window cleaner. I think it's a good site.

Family business is building and landscaping- ime of being involved in subbing out work.

Good tradesmen dont often advertise .

Good tradesmen often have waiting lists

Know anyone having building work done recently ? Personal recomendation would always be more favourable than a website i can pay to put my name on.

Those sites mostly have people that dont get word of mouth work. - that said i use one for moving kit once - shiply and the lad did me a good job and was cheap - but he only had to move a land rover 15 miles on a trailer.... I doubt je was insured and i was little worried it was going to be taken again in the night .... But it hasnt been 🙂

This is how trust a trader works....
They rip off tradesmen who are desparate for work, you can trust them to turn up and do the job for bugger all because they have nowhere else to be,and they are skint, you need a word of mouth tradesman who's to busy to do your job at the time being but he can book you in if your willing to wait,he might not be cheap(because that's what trust a trader is,getting the trades price right down) but he's working all the time not sitting in trust a trader all day bidding for jobs.
