When out walking i find my trousers slowly working their way down (oo err etc.) and when its damp or im getting sweaty its becoming a real pain. So thinking about braces (RIP Bobby Ball)

Anyone use these? I keep seeing some montane ones that have a velcro type loop end. Do these need special loops in the pants or do they just go through regular belt loops. I imagine clip on style braces would keep coming off.

Any recommendations?

I use a belt for trousers but I have some 'outdoors' braces for my waterproof MTB shorts because they slip down. Mine have a clip that fastens onto the waistband - it's not too bad, but every so often it can unclip when a rucksack flips the catch open. Quite rare though.

I got mine from rei.com in the US:

I'd imagine that they need the trousers to be made for them, like my Showers Pass ones. Normal belt loops aren't very strong. Do you not fancy a belt?

Already using a belt but i think my lack of an arse is also part of the problem. I'm pretty much "straight" from armpit to ankle.

Having recently lost about a stone (& counting) I’ll be wearing braces next time I’m out on the bike. Went out yesterday & my shorts kept falling down when I was stood up on the pedals.
I’m too miserly to buy ones that actually fit till my current ones are worn out.
