Not got an i-phone but used the otter boxes on all our blackberry bolds at work. Adds a fair bit of bulk to the device but offers the most protection you will get from a protective case.

I've got the smaller rubber one for my iPhone and it does a good job of protecting it.
They also do a hard case but that looked a bit too overengineered for my needs.

Just ordered one from Amazon (half price). Not expecting to use it every day as it looks quite heavy duty, but hoping it will be useful when I go travelling, biking etc.
