Now I'm predominantly home working I spend a ridiculous amount of time just sitting at my desk which cant be good for me.
I've bought a platform to turn my desk into a stand up desk but being lazy I just end up sitting in the office chair.
Thinking about changing the chair out for a stand up stool (see below). Figure that way I can have some support/rest but keep desk in stand up position.
Anyone use one of these or have any tips (appreciate ideally should be getting up and moving regularly anyhow)

I find all stools work better when they're stood up.
We both used one of those stools over lock down and beyond when we were spending hours in front of a computer.
We were using them as sitting stools and have had no back problems due to sitting since. Recomended.

Cheers Bruce - which one have you got?
We have both got the IKEA one you linked to.
Debs has had lots of back problems and they have reduced due to the stool. We have just sat on them with a normal desk, but over lock down I was sat on mine for 10hrs a day writing on line learning.

Got one of these after my hip op to do standing up jobs sort of sat, then repurposed it to go with a standing desk. I like it, wife loathes it - so it seems to be an acquired taste.
We ended up getting a draughtsman chair instead which works great with the standing desk (ours is not an adjustable number, just a 50's drawing board tweaked) as a proper sitting position alternative to standing. The perch stool thing is I admit a kind of unsatisfactory half way house.
Feel I should have added with a budget under £80!!
I have that IKEA one. It's under my desk being useless as unlike a flat topped stool I can't use it to store stuff on.
Standing desk for the win.
I've been on my feet with work all my days so I was 99% conditioned to standing desks.
Yep, sit stand desk and IKEA stool job = 15 years of tight back - gone.
Plenty of positions to sit/stand in. I Like leaning against the stool.
I used one for a very long time as we started wfh from outset of covid. Finally gave up on it a few weeks ago and enjoy the comfort of lounging in a decent office chair. It was fine at first but I’d possibly got lazy with it. Switching between the two would prob suit me better.
I find it's more a question of the right shoes, as above I've been on my feet most of the time so standing is more comfortable. I need to find something better to stand in now.
@squirrelking - I've found the on running shoes are fantastic for standing in.
But expensive - great warranty.
I have a yo-yo mat. I either wear my keen slippers or go barefoot.
Nae issues so far a year in
I have one of these https://ergonomics.co.uk/products/cloonch-standing-seat
I love it! It’s not anywhere near your budget. I had a cheap one but the gas ram was not great and it didn’t really go high enough for my +6’ height.

I’ve been using the Amazon one linked for a few weeks. Perhaps it’s my arris but I can’t get comfy on it. Shape means the lumps are all in the wrong place. Also you can’t really sit on it you just lean on it. Having said that my back feels better from not sitting down all day. I bought it to see if I’d prefer stool vs chair which I do so will spend a bit more and get something a bit more suited to me
