My hitachi right angle drill is rarely used, and it means another charger etc in my shed, then I noticed that dewalt make a right angle adaptor that fits a normal drill, but what’s it like in use? Anyone got one?

I've used the Dewalt right angle drill, maybe it was me but i didnt seem as powerful as a normal Dewalt drill. Have never used an adapter.

From a brief Google the Hitachi one looks similar to the metabo one I purchased last month.
The metabo one is brilliant, so I'd imagine the Hitachi one would be fine too.

Edit just seen I read it wrong, not seen dewalt adaptor. I'll check it out.

there's reviews for this on Amazon, plus other cheaper adapters from various brands.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00C0VSNKQ/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_22?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A2KVF7QXNCLV8H

63 reviews - 5 stars.

Or there's somethig like this which has a chuck rather than needing special drill bits for the other one :

I have one like the AM Tech one - bought from Axminster tools.

It's ok but the fact it rotates freely even when in use makes it difficult to hold square as you have to use one hand on the drill to control that and only have one on the adapter.

for occasional use it's fine, if I were drilling holes in the backs of cabinets all day I'd probably get a right angle drill.

The whole assembly with drill attached is fairly tall, too.

How small is your shed that you can't fit one more charger? I've not used the dewalt adapter but I've used others and they are all a bit fiddly or two handers. When you need the right angle drill it's already a bit awkward so anything that makes it simpler is better IMO.

I have the adapter without the chuck, I'm a plumber and do a lot of emergency work and it is an invaluable bit of kit for me. I only use it occasionally for drilling, probably wouldn't stand up to lots of holes like a dedicated right angle drill would. My use is mainly hard to access fixings which it is great for and has saved me hours of disassembly in the past. Great tool, always in my drill/driver tool box!
