Have got Mrs zip a pay monthly O2 Sim and trying to get her O2 PAYG number moved to that Sim.
Down the number swap text thing 3 times.
Phoned and spoke to O2 3 times. They are not moving it. 2 weeks on and no further forward.
Mine only took 5 days to move. So much for their 24 hour claim.
Any cunning plans or should I smash their windows?

Use a PAC to move it to a PAYG on a different network and then from there use a PAC to the new O2 contract?

I would have expected them to move the number for you as part of the deal. I guess you have three choices....

1. Keep harassing O2 and get them to do their job.

2. Get a free SIM from someone like giffgaff or Smarty (others are available). Get a PAC from 02, you can do that by texting PAC to 65075 from the PAYG mobile. Move the number to the temporary SIM using the PAC number.

Get a PAC from the temprorary SIM (giffgaff, Smarty) and port that back to your contract O2 SIM.

3. Sack O2 off, you should be able to cancel within the cooling off period. Go for option 2 but just stay with giffgaff or Smarty. Giffgaff use the O2 network.

On hold for over an hour , spoke to someone who then put me on hold again for a further 45 minutes  then disconnected me when the customer services closed at 9.

I am seriously going to **** them up somehow. The epsom branch is going to get a customer 5 minutes before they close wanting the latest iPhone then spending an hour not being able to decide what colour.

You'll give yourself a heart attack with all of that rage. Just chill out, port the number somewhere else and then onto the new O2 sim.

There's no rage just vengeance. I do like a challenge and I can be a total ****.

Refunds from BT and Scottish Power are testament to that. O2 have just become fair game.

I had exactly the same issue! O2 were useless but keep calm and don't swear. I was told countless times it'll be done in the next 24, 2, 5 hours so in the end I just said "great I'll stay on the line with you until that times up and we'll wait for it to be done....." the advisor didn't know to do as I was polite she couldn't cut me off for being rude/abusive and we just sat there for 20 minutes until she decided to port the number manually and it was finally done.

I was honestly at the point where I would've kept her on loudspeaker as I slept if it was going to take another 24 hours.

Text PAC to 65075 and you’ll get the code straight away.

This is the future of every service I’m afraid, if it works - it works, if it doesn’t tough titty! You’ll just get passed around from someone who doesn’t care, or know how to fix the issue to someone else, and so on and so on. Lies, lies and more lies. Yes Tesco Mobile, I’m talking to you, may you rot in hell for your lies and incompetence.

Yep, we left Vodafone for similar levels of incompetence and couldntgiveashitness.

I've not bought Vodafone down, but I refuse to reward that sort of attitude with my custom.

Just PAC away from O2. Both problems solved.

You can't use PAC to move a number on the same network. There is no formal method for doing this.

As has been said, forget moving the O2 number from one O2 SIM to another. Get a PAYG SIM, port the number to that, then on to the new O2 SIM.

It might take a few days overall to achieve but it will get what you want done.
