What are the trails like?
Going over the weekend and having never been before I'm not sure how it drains... Is it mega muddy / boggy?
Oh yeah....
Will I die there? Lol
Really varied, some hardpack / pretty dry, some very boggy indeed!
Rode there last night, it's running ok only couple of big puddles. Don't arrive expecting a gnarr core trail centre, do expect a decent woodland jaunt. Do divert off the red to the, ahem "bike park" as it adds interest and as is stated many times on here the faster you go the better it is. You would have to try really hard to die there.
It drains pretty well, though there will still be some big puddles, just ride through these as it's firm underneath. It's on sandy land so the mud doesn't stick. Will you die? Maybe from boredom if you're a gnar shredding to the max downhiller. It's good fun though. Make sure you follow signs to the bike park part way round the Kitchener trail and you'll find some new stuff.
I rode the blue with the kids on Wednesday. Even that was pretty wet in a lot of places. I'd guess that several stretches of the red would be very soft indeed.
I doubt you'll die of a bicycle related incident at sherwood. They've done a good job of making the trails interesting considering the lack of height gain. But unless you hammer the red route it is fairly tame compared to other reds.
Cheers all....
Meeting some old friends there, and I'd herd its a bit tame,so just wondered what to expect, sounds like ill be back at the blacks at llandegla before I know it 😀
blacks at llandegla??
There are none? Try the black at Kirroughtree.
Might go for a pootle at the weekend.
Was running good on new years eve, few wet bits, last quarter the muddiest but its been dry since then
At least when you fall asleep and fall off half way round the mud is a soft landing
New bike park very tame but if there's a few of you then flat out races down the different parallel runs will be fun

Section 18 and section 1 had a couple of puddles which were a lot deeper than I expected last Sunday, should have dried up a bit now though.
Adi66 = not a real black though is it,could do that on my cx bike...
Found one of those deep ones today while trying to make a cunning overtake, doh.... .
Good to see it packed, riders, loafers and families. keeping the money rolling in.
On another note, 29ers were everwhere.
