Looking to replace my 10 year old belkin wireless router with something a bit more up to date.
We have the usual iPads smartphones smart TV sky wireless etc. Any help and advice appreciated
Does the 10 year old router work?
If yes why do you want to change it?

I have this Netgear D6300 It works fine
Our old router has started playing up and constantly needs reset. It's been faultless up until now, thought possible a newer up to date one might also be a bit quicker!
A 10 year old router won't be N, so a new one will be quicker. Unless you've got a demanding environment (thick walls, large area to cover etc) I'd say just get one free from your ISP, they're usually absolutely fine.
I have an Asus 66U darknight running the Merlin firmware.
Excellent bits of kit, replaces the Sky wireless router just fine too and can do lots of useful things like USB drive sharing etc.
I have a cheap (£15) tp-link adsl modem/router, connected to an apple airport express doing wifi and AirPlay duties.
How tech savvy are you? I know it's STW but not everyone here is an IT bod. If you want to control the router to the nth degree then the ISP one may not be the ideal solution. Linkage and Asus machines get good reviews though check that there is a recent firmware update available for whatever you choose. Will secure you from the recent bugs going the rounds.

Maybe, maybe not. But the OP has had the same router for 10 years - does it seem likely he's all that interested in controlling the router to the nth degree?
I have one of these Netgear Link
Works fine for me and doesnt cost the earth.
