I had an Abbey National credit card approx 20 years ago that had PPI on it that was pushed fairly hard to take.
I've tried claiming myself via Santander but they couldn't find the card - and I have no idea of the card number or account.
The wife is in a similar position with a TSB card.
Can anyone recommend a PPI claims company that hasn't riled me with annoying recorded phone calls?
I've done the letter myself thing - but to no avail with santander.
20 years ago? Get over it I'd say. I have no sympathy whatsoever for PPI claimants.
From a practical sense, a bank should have disposed of your records six years after closure of the product anyway, so they're unlikely to have any record. Do you have any proof of having the account with them?
Do it yourself, surely the PPi claim company will only get you to dig out the stuff you'll have to dig out if you take the DIY route.
We weren't going to bother as we usually don't take any insurance of loans etc but we HAD to take one on our first mortgage for some reason, so we went for the DIY route, got nearly £4k back. RESULT. It was well worth the effort.
There's more info to follow in that link.
Get over it? Law courts say otherwise.
A lot of people at my work have had great results with fair trade practice
Good luck
I have no sympathy for the banks who have used dodgy and aggressive marketing and selling tactics to deliberately dupe their customers Its con-artistry on an industrial scale. They've been found guilty and it is everyones duty to make a claim I think, we can't let the banks get away with a penny.
The wife got £4.5k back, and though I'm pretty sure i've not taken any PPI out, there is a risk it was added on without my knowing so i'm putting in a claim just in case.
I have no sympathy whatsoever for PPI claimants.
I was mid sold it.
Was specifically told it would cover me even though I was self employed.
I got over £8k back in Mis-sold PPI. Well worth claiming. You won't get everything back, as in some cases they will say "well you did tick the PPI box"
I'm currently using fair trade practice, they claim not to do any hard sell stuff, just operate on referral only.
John they can't do that as they have to prove it was suitable for you. The big win is of you're employer gives you sick pay and still in their employment.
