You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
My last 12 months of fitness and weight loss journey has been an absolute car crash of superlative failures, distractions and hilarious moments.
For the 15th year in a row, I've decided that this year ahead is THE year I'm going to crack this weight loss game, mainly because my body is telling me that I have to.
I want to make a short film containing me waffling on and add some photos into the movie.
I follow a lot of YouTube creators these days and in awe of their productions, however, i'm a real simpleton with a real basic set up.
I have a Samsung S21+ and a Huwaei Laptop running Windows 11.
Anyone recommend me a really easy solution to making a small video that doesn't involve hiring a production team?
I'm not being funny (honest), but surely there's a YouTube video/channel for how to make YouTube videos with just a phone & laptop?

Probably, but every time I search for stuff like this I end up hitting click bait and stuff that has to be paid for, which I don't mind, but would rather buy on the back of someone's recommendation, instead of a sponsored ad/review.
If you don't want bells and whistles, you've basically got all you need. An S21 is good for 4k (and better) video and with Clipchamp now part of Windows you're good for basic editing (if you want to do more sophisticated editing then I use Shotcut which is free and very good). Might also want a phone clamp and tripod. Loads of tutorials on YouTube for simple filming/editing/vlogging stuff. Audio might be the sticking point using the S21's internal mics, so if you get into it a bit more you might want to look at USB C or Bluetooth mic solutions?
I use a GoPro hero 7 for 4k and Corel video for editing. Slick it is not 😆

Honestly wouldn't bother with 4k. 1080p sounds like enough for what you want to do, but if it takes you somewhere where you really want to capture the detail of the scene then maybe go to 2k.
I think frame rate probably more important; if there is fast motion in your clips, you'll want at least 60fps, 30fps not enough.

...From a storage perspective...
I have kept all the source material for my videos even that which never made it into the videos I've published.
My videos have a similar aim, for tracking my bike skills progress, so no real reason to keep any of the source material once published.
Ergo storage becomes less of a problem of you don't hoard pointless video clips!

I never say that, everyone gets enough alerts as it is!
