I'm looking to make a jump from my existing Arcam Alpha based bi-amp system to something a bit more modern. These have been on my shortlist for a while, but without being able to hear them before purchase, it's difficult to know exactly what I'd be getting. Does anyone out there have any direct experience of these speakers?

I'm sure they'll sound amazing.

I run some old AVI "biggatrons red spot" ( bigger version of a Neutron ) and designed for studio use but they sound amazing despite being 12 years old.

Linked up to Audiolab 8000 per and power amps.

Despite their great rep as above, I wouldn't spend proper money on any component without hearing it in my system, too much to in wrong.

Unless you've seen a great deal and want to risk it.

These are 'the system'. No component matching required. Active speakers, with internal DAC. However, I take your point, the are a few places where I could audition, but they're mostly down south. The cost of fuel for auditioning them would be more than the cost of return postage, should I decide they weren't for me after auditioning my own home.

I've heard nothing but praise for them, but don't see the point in upgrading unless the'll be significantly better than what I already have.

Ah well fair enough then.

The NeutronS I heard were stunning, clear, lively and neutral-hard to dislike. Not sure why they didn't sell more, probably not big enough speaker or company.

I wasn't I huge FAO of their electronics but they weren't offensive.

neutron didn't have much of a bottom end, still a great speaker though. the Leema Xero is how bass should be done in a small box.

They were pretty good for their size IMO, you can get bass from a wee box but only at the expense of efficiency/max SPL - "ye cannae change the laws of physics"

I've got some AVI Biggatron's (prior) to Red Spot version along with an Arcam A85 Amp. They still sound and look great. I'm going to sell them and go to the Avi 9.1t's. However, i would guess they should be upgrading them soon based on their upgrade cycle.

I've just purchased the ADM 9.1T RS (Red Spot). Wow !! They sound great. I'm keeping my old Biggatron's for another room. But the new speakers are great. No amps... Just speakers. Also great customer support from the manufacturer. They even replied to a question at 10:30pm on a bank holiday !!
