If you have Caller ID working on your line, please can you call *#234# and tell me what it says (Its a code for confirming Caller ID is active)?

*#001# is another code which tells you what services are in operation on your line.

Had Plusnet for 2 months but, despite Caller ID working for years on Talktalk, it isn't working on Plusnet despite me paying for it

Thanks

Will check when I get home ~an hour. Think 001 works though as I had to do a lot of trouble shooting when we moved in...

I'm on Plusnet, but it'll be gone 7.30 when I get in.
I don't mind giving it a try, if I think on.

Thanks lerk

...mine says "Sorry the service requested is not available"

They say they want to get an engineer out to my house with the possible threat of a £99 charge but, if its not active, then I can't see why I need an engineer at this stage 😐

Better late than never.
"Caller's identity will be displayed."

The other one says "The following services are in operation . . . call diversion is in operation." I don't have a clue what that means. 😕

HTH

I don't have caller ID so can only presume chipset does. The diversion is presumably answering service.

If you've been paying for ID and don't have it they'll sort it out pretty quickly, although I have had a few occasions to raise issues they are brilliant at sorting them and keeping you in the loop.

*#234# -- Mine says 'Callers Identities will be displayed. Please hang up" 🙂

And I have a working Caller ID.
