Lots of fun cars out on the roads in Surrey this afternoon. Mostly heading towards the M25 and likely Brooklands.
It was very busy. When I first started going about a decade ago there was the members area, the parking under the garages and the bit in from of the (now gone) hanger by the hill climb. Now it is pretty much the entire sight include the 'bring a wheel wedge' banked track parking. A good few hours of looking including the London Bus Museum (about as interesting as I expected), the Barnes-Wallis building with Jet engines and the huge wind/weather tunnel, the plane hangers, the WW2 memory stuff, the cycling museum, the live band playing on the roof, the.....
It is also 9am-4pm instead of 9-11am but I only stayed for the morning as I am still nursing a sick, but recovering, wife.
Well we went today...last time I took my kid he was about 4...and said it was the worse day out ever...now he is doing his A levels and want to be a engineer...he was fascinated...the atmospheric chamber was just truly Amazing...I mean the thought and design just blows your mind....everything there was just Amazing...the bus museum....well ....not for us..but everything else..
Then we did a hop skip and jump to merc world and saw the F1 cars inc the Amazing exploded F1 car with all 3200 bits hanging....
So forward 13 years later....its now the best day out
