Me. It' all too commercialised now, people have forgotten the true meaning of it all....blah blah!

I've been to my parents today and drank all afternoon, now 4 night shifts from hell and alcohol have caught up with me.

Will be up early to try and get a double parkrun in at 9am & 10am.

A double looks unlikely/ambitious in my part of the world but I hadn't realized some locations run events on NYD. Might have a trip to the Bolton one as out seems to be the closest (15 ish miles)

In fact. I could ride there. 😕

P Jay..... Was at millennium too
... Load of absolute ****. Had to que for ages to get in... Then again to buy the vouchers for booze. Not to mention the cost of the limo there. The illegal taxi back was fun too.... Booze, knives, pissed blokes and kebabs not a great combo.

I've had a cracking new years eve. Work gave me the morning off for free cos my new bike had arrived so did 18 miles round hayfield.

My gf moved in yesterday and cooked an awesome chicken and tarragon pie while my daugter and I dug in to the trenches for a nerf war. Sorted.

Quiet evening with Mrs TJ and Mini TJ and dog. Open fire blazing, writing drivel here and just not wanting to do much. Bike ready for a spin in the morning, after enjoying the frozen ride today, will be definitely covered in crap tomorrow as a lot warmer tonight and lots of defrosting. Happy days........ Have an enjoyable evening , whatever you do.

I evidently nodded off a couple of hours ago. Oops. Plans remain similar though, I'll go for a ride at 11 and watch the fireworks from atop Clent. Presuming I'm all enlivened afterwards, I'll pop down to the local Buddhist centre for a chant at 3. NYE, like works do's, spoil a night out by prescribing Fun (not that they can't be fun, slammin vinyl/atomic jam in the early 2000s were ace) but my contrary soul makes hard work of it. Out for a do with friends on friday when hopefully the world'll still be too poor and hungover to jostle me.

As with a couple of others on here, 2014 was my nadir. The sooner it ****s off the better, 2015 has the smell of potential.

Crappy Flu Year in the Malvern's household. Feel like have a giant turd sitting on my chest and every muscle aches. Only just recovered from the last pre-xmas bout, sod this for a game of soldiers. Had a fun 'family and friends at the pub' night planned too...

Night cancelled for us. Need sleep. All the best everyone, hope you puke in someone's best shoe.

Grumplestilstkin.

Need a clear head and an early start as my mother is coming over to help me De-clutter the house.

Everyone's gone out. Peace and quiet. I've got all the lights off apart from the Xmas tree, the dog is asleep at my feet, I've got an amazing IPA and a Laphroaig next to me and I'm watching series 2 of The Wire. Absolute bliss.

Getting over the lurgy also on the single malt watching 3:10 to Yuma may venture out as the neighbours meet on a bridge on our housing estate to pop a few corks and fireworks but to be honest I can't me arsed and dislike fireworks, if the family go I will force myself so they won't call me a grumpy git as per usual.

4 year old daughter finally fallen asleep on the sitting room floor. Looks like Mrs North has dozed off too.

We had fireworks earlier. And I've drunk various boozy things. Might go and get that new run out of the garage....

2014 was a year of great change on the work front, and 2015 is make or break for in my new career. My daughter also started school and seems to be happy there. Just need to finally get on with the planned house extension this year and see if I can help Mrs North make the next step in her world of work.

Happy New Year to you all - may 2015 bring everything you wish for....

Tom x

Bit of an anti climax thing for me...

Happy new year all! Carried on the theme of 2014 by starting late and then getting lost around the streets of Clent (it looks different in the dark!) When the fireworks started I switched to plan b. Overlooking stourbridge from the bridleway near racecourse lane. Nice views, a bottle of squash and spitting distance from where I grew up. I'm content.
All the best for 2015 STW

I thought the roads were busy round here in the evening when I went for a ride. Presumed it wsa preparation for the folloiwng nights NYE celebrations.

Went to bed early, trying to get back into work mode, and the missus woke me up just after 12 to say happy new year, told her to stop being stupid it's tomorrow night.

Well it looks like I was the stupid one and I have one day less holiday left as well.

Bollocks

Working night shift in the middle of the north sea, not much of a NYE but I've not really cared for it in years anyway.
Did get facetime working (wifi in accomodation area is generally iffy) for a 20 minute chat with the other half over the bells, so that was pretty good 🙂

Golden Seagull? I can probably see you from here - work on the Buzzard platform!

It was the only time I've ever had facetime work out here, so was chuffed when it worked after a few goes!

My wife's in work at 07:00 so I said we would stay in. Opened a bottle and put a film on, fell asleep to be woken by fireworks at midnight. Possibly the most boring new year I've had... Off out at the weekend instead.
