@Countzero, pretty sure that's what it is- I'd never seen one before, was a bit fooled by its head and thought it was a radioactive mutant black garden ant.
Funnily enough, I saw two within a few yards of each other this afternoon, first I've seen in years!
Not a very good photo, the light was going, and it was difficult to see the camera screen properly without lying in the dirt!
