You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
We are going to ride a road loop up here and will end up at Llanwddyn. We then want to go south to the A458. Road again is fine but I notice that Glyndwrs Way runs more directly using road and tracks> does anyone know what the surface of the tracks bit is like?
Gravel is fine but we don't want to be carrying through bogs.
Also further west on the A458 we are turning north at Dinas Mawddwy to go over the Bwlch y Groes . Before we get there, there are several vehicular rights of way that cut the corner off. Any one know about their surface?
The road from the top end of vyrnwy to Dinas is fine. Tarmac. Steep in places. Austin used it in the second world war to test vehicles.
Or is that not what you wanted?
Nope. Sorry. The other way. Bottom of Vyrnwy to Dinas. I know we can use the road but was tring to cut the corners by adding some farm track etc. Google earth makes it look possible.
Also cutting corners shortens the route a bit and I can tell my mate that we are doing less than 50 miles 😆
Basically leaving Bala, up the Hirnant pass and the lake then round to the Bwlch y Groes and back to Bala.
Any one also know of cheap accommodation in Bala?
Town centre bunk house is an option but it is busy next weekend and that means full kitchens in the morning.
