I’m after an hvlp paint gun to spray my old vw bus, can anyone recommend a budget gun for me?

ive seen 24quid jobbies on eBay with a couple of nozzles, or an I better off spending nearly 100 on a DeVilbiss 610 or similar?

Like everything in life cheap is bad. £100 is still a cheap gun. Is it not possible to borrow one?

Try looking at finish line. They are cheap version ol devilbiss but you might be better off getting someone with their own guns and experience to paint it imo

I’d like our van repainting but it’s not the gun that would be the problem. It’s where to put the van while your painting it. Huge garage dust free space with air extraction and lighting is my major problem.

Devilbiss FLG5 with 1.4 and 1.8 tips for about £100 is a good, "cheaper" gun. I use a cheap £30 gun for primer and the FLG5 for paint/clear (bought a cheap gun first). If I was doing it again I would just use an FLG5 with a 1.8 for primer and a 1.4 for base/clear.

Worth checking the paint manufacturers tip size recommendation first as well, some want a big tip for some primers.

I got an older version of the current devilbiss when I did the bike, it really makes the job easier (I've used proper cheapies, and a £50-ish Siegen, all of which did the job but less well). The money becomes a small thing against the total cost of paint and product, let alone time- having to redo one panel will basically eliminate the price difference and that's reaosnably likely on a first job. And the better the finish you get from the gun, the less cutting and finishing you need to do, which imo is a massive difference.

There are places where you can rent a spray booth and all the equipment including the oven.

there was one in Bristol called pay and spray .
