There's no snow! It's a bit chilly and it's pouring down but not a drop of the white stuff!

Seems there's a bit of an uproar around Flintshire, as council decided yesterday to shut all its schools, but the snow and ice didn't arrive (although https://www.wunderground.com/wundermap?lat=53.33&lon=-3.401&zoom=8&radar=1&wxstn=0 suggests it has been snowing for the last hour or so).

I have been monitoring the forecast, it has gone up by several degrees C during the week and a lot of snow forecasts have turned to rain this morning. so it's understandable.

Loads of schools closed in Powys and its just peeing it down with occasional attempts at snowing.

Friday is supposed to be even warmer.

@saxonrider and I are going to climb Yr Wyddfa on Saturday, driving up to Caernarvon from Cardiff tomorrow.  Normally I take the A470, especially on a Friday afterno0n evening as it's quieter than the alternatives, but I don't want to get stuck especially as my car is RWD.  Alternatives would be going via Hereford (which will be shit) and Shrewsbury to get the A5, or going up to Oswestry and then Wrexham to pick up the A55.

Not sure what the mountains will be like - rain is forecast for the summit tomorrow but I don't expect it'll be enough to wash the snow away. I am expecting to be waist deep in heavy wet snow and give it a 50% chance of having to turn back.

Not much snow at all looking at webcam.

Cant say I would want to be walking up Snowdon tomorrow, much more chance of getting raindon than snowdon 🙂

Blowing a gale and low cloud base looks no fun what so ever. Saturday looks particularly pleasant though

It's Saturday we are climbing.  It does look wet though, the forecast is now sleet even at the summit. Shame!
