While I am pretty much anti-fake on appearance (excessive make up, fake boobs-have felt a few - botox, fish lips etc) I do not like my non-white teeth.

I'm off to Turkey shortly and it would be super cheap there. I wouldn't go full Hollywood, maybe just a few shades lighter.

What am I thinking?

Humourous and stupid replies welcome obvs.

Try tippex for a few weeks first. If you like it then get them done (probably with tippex) in Turkey. If it all goes wrong you can be in one of those channel four documentaries that are really only there so we can laugh and point but attempt to disguise themselves as serious, thoughtful television.

I once thought about it until I saw the price and remembered that I drink an obscene volume of coffee each day. Luckily I have a fair beard so the teeth are a good colour match

I have had mine whitened, more corrective than cosmetic. I had teeth moulds taken to create a rubber gum shield sort of thing, I then had to add the peroxide gel each night and wear them overnight for a few weeks. Aside from the initial moulds it was all done at home and was a few hundred £ I think.

Definitely shouldn't have the fake boobs done Al. I'm sure you can carry it off but it's not worth the risk... 🙂

I don’t get it. Are white teeth more attractive? Does our monkey brain kick in and think ooo big boobs she will make a good mate. Do white teeth mean good genetics?

Honestly think we need to step away from trying to improve our bodies for the sake of appearance.

BUT they are your teeth and if you don’t like them and changing them would make you happier go for it. (Same for any cosmetic surgery - if it helps physically or mentally it’s right for the individual)

My sister is a dental practice manager so offered me teeth whitening at cost if I wanted it at my next routine check up. Think I paid about £50 something for the gum shield moulds and about 10 or 12 gel things. Each gel thing would do maybe 2 or 3 fillings of the moulds.
I used it over night for maybe 2 or 3 nights in a row (there are different gels and strengths so make sure to read the instructions as some of them are for only an hour or two rather than over night).
I would say that it made them pretty noticeably white, but not Joey Essex white. I guess I could have used it more regularly to achieve that though. What it did do though was make my teeth and gums very sensitive each time I applied the gel for about two or 3 days afterwards. If you get sensitive teeth at all already I'd imagine it would be a lot worse.
Stopped doing it as the novelty wore off really. Teeth are back to original off white now.

At least there's loads on medical tourism in Turkey if you decide to have a look online.

Finding a brush and toothpaste that suits you best might be more effective.

As someone who's recently (and still more to have done) paying for expensive extensive dental work: !!!!!!Save and protect your enamel at all costs!!!!!! Absolutely not worth ruining it for short term cosmetic gain.

The people selling it / the strips will say it doesn't damage enamel. Do your own research.

IMO YMMV IANAD

I bought some of the most expensive Oral B toothpaste at £16 a tube. it has at least 4x the bleaching agents of the "whitening" - yes I checked. I use a tiny amount with the polishing head for the electrical toothbrush after cleaning with a normal toothpaste. I drink a lot of tea and coffee, and the dental hygienist said I had no evidence of stains. And yes it can make your gums a little sore. I imagine that the gels just do the same - it's likely hydrogen peroxide.

No bleaching occurred, not going fake won me over.

You'll have to deal with the real me.

Starfish inspections welcome and at very affordable prices.
