Our digital camera is bolloxed - power it on and the lens goes in and out constantly and it won't display anything. This might be related to me dropping it at the weekend. Anyhow, it's an olympus - think it cost £150 a couple of years back. Is there scope for getting it repaired, or is it like most consumer electronics nowadays - in the bin with it?
IME, it can be done..... but compared to the current value of the camera it will almost certainly be uneconomic.
For the bin I'm afraid. I asked in a camera shop about my broken digicam, and the guy said that he had NEVER seen a repair estimate that was worth it.
yep, you can probably buy a working 2nd hand version of your camera for aound 50 quid on ebay, then you'll have a spare battery/charger etc.
