I have 20 rolls of 35mm film I've been meaning to developed for years, specifically just to get the negatives before the whole process becomes to expensive. Some b & w, all Ilford film.
Any suggestions? I wouldn't dare to hire a darkroom and ruin them myself after ten years without practice.
I use these chaps fuji
Asda will do just development very cheap.
If its C41 colour process loads of places (XP2 I think)
But if its proper B&W its harder to find and its specialist. (HP5 or fp4)
stuff in brackets is from memory and maybe wrong
Peak Imaging still do b&w process. Or send them to me and I'll dev them for £2 each. Bargain.
I take them to Tesco and get them to just print to cd, I then only get printed anything that I want to.

To develop film you just need a dev tank, the dev and fix of your choice, a film retriever and a dark bag to get the film onto the spiral. No need for a dark room.
You don't need a darkroom but you need to know what you are doing.
Ilford will do dev only.

A while back I offered to dev a mate's film but didn't find the time. I sent it off to them in the end for dev and print he was chuffed with the results.
