Anyone got a pair? Are they as good as the marketing?
Is the 8KO lens significantly better than the 4KO lens?

I understand that they have a no returns policy even for off-the-shelf sunglasses which is quite off-putting.

i've got a set of renegades with the 8KO lenses. as good as any oakleys I've had before and half the price.

think I paid £55 with a voucher from a strava challenge, and waiting for a free shipping day (more often than not)

edit. paid £70. most of the vouchers don't work on the lowest spec models..

I have a set of their Classics with 8KO smoke polarised lenses and I think they're great.  Easily on par with the Oakley's they replaced.  I did try the Renegades but they were too wide for my head so I was getting lots of reflection on the inside of the lens.  Sungod let me swap them for the Classics with no hassle whatsoever.  They'll happily exchange or refund if there's a problem.  I now have a set of their riding glasses too which are excellent.

I don't but have a friend who is a skier and runner, who could easily afford better alternatives, and he uses them for both activities so I expect that they must be good.

I had a pair that weren't as good as Oakleys for vision, in my opinion and I found they scratched more easily.

I have a pair of 4KO's that live on the top of my MTB cap, I think they are a very good and well priced option.

I also have a pair of 8KO Renegades and although I like them the Fashionista in me prefers the look of Jawbreakers when I'm sprinting down the high street. I have no issues with the lenses.

I’ve had a few pairs - two pairs of classics , their first pair of goggles and the sierra’s

I think they are great. The lenses are better than any oakleys I’ve had except maybe the prizm ones. They have all worn well apart from one set of classics where the mirror coating “bubbled up”. They sent me a new set of lenses and a credit voucher.

They are a step from other cheap sunglasses you see advertised on Facebook.

Would recommend heartily!

I've got sunnies and riding glasses. The riding glasses are great. I was skeptical at first, but I'm now a convert. The sunnies are marginally nicer quality than my melons. Lenses seem good and they look cool.

I’ve got a pair of Classics 8KO Polarised, I think they’re okay, not amazing or bad.

Officially they don’t offer returns, but it seems they do offer returns via trustpilot if you leave a negative review.

yeah i got a pair just last week, Renegades, with the 4KO lens. £70.

Mightily impressed. i have worn nothing but Oakley Holbrooks for the last decade or so and the Sungods are just as good - whether they last as long remains to be seen but cant fault em for the price. if you decide to order some let me recommend you and they'll give me £50 off another pair!!

@mahalo - go on then.

I've got some old Oakley Sliver that I want to replace with polarized glasses (bloody cataract!!) and I think the Renegade is a good replacement

I've found the arms start to wobble earlier than I'd like. Otherwise good, but not Oakley good. IME

I’ve got some Renegades which were great but lenses have started to delaminate. Should be covered by their lifetime guarantee but I’ve lost my order number and not yet managed to get a response from their customer services, which is a tad annoying.

Also have some older pacebreakers which have also been good for the price.

I’ve got two pairs after always having Oakley, bought first to replace my Slivers that I managed to break and can’t get replacement arms for (if anyone has some polished black framed Slivers they want to offload so let me know, esp if they have 24k lenses). I find them a little big for me, the Renegades that is, the second pair is the Classic and they fit my small head very well. 4KO fire lenses and we’re great in the Caribbean earlier in the year.

I've got a 5 year old pair of Renegades and the Vanguard skiing goggles, both excellent and both still in great condition. I'd buy another pair of Renegades without hesitation.

Yes! I had a pair the year before last I think, and they are completely un!arked still. Great clarity on he lenses, the polarising works, amd cos theyre not oakleys I dont feel worried about leaving them in the car with the windows ctacked open in this weather.
Oh, and I've got a pumpkin head too, they fit just fine.

I’ve got a pair each of the Classics, in tortoiseshell with gold mirror, Renegades in recycled grey with blue mirror, the Surfers Against Sewage ones, and a pair of the Lando Norris LN4 Sierras, and I’ve worn nothing else since I bought them; and I’ve got umpteen pairs of Oakley, Rayban, Arnet and other sunglasses aquired over many years.
I’ve had no issues with hinges, and they fit remarkably well, with zero tweaking to get them to fit properly, which is a first. All mine are 4KO lenses, what with developing cataracts, etc, I really don’t think I can justify spending the extra.

For £55*, they’re astonishing value, especially when you consider the Oakley equivalent to the Classics, Frogskins, of which I have two original early 90’s pairs, now have plastic hinges, not metal like mine, and still carry a premium price.
The fact that you can buy easily replaceable lenses for £30, just for a change of look is amazing in itself, how much are a replacement pair of Frogskins lenses…?

I’ve managed to put some scratches on my Renegade lenses, where I had them on the top of my head and caught them on a branch, and they landed on gravel, so at some point I’m going to see about claiming on the lifetime warranty, but they’re so cheap to replace, I’m honestly not too bothered, it was my stupid fault anyway!

*The LN4 Sierras were £85, I think. Still good value, and they’re the ones I wear most.

I've got a pair of classics and they're pretty good. The optics are certainly in the ballaprk of oakley.

They're not quite as robust as oakleys in my experience - both lenses and frames.

I've got Renegades. Love them.

Was worried about the no returns business (that is weird tbf). But I contacted them directly and they agreed I could return.

I don't think my head is huge, but I'm 6'4", so it's normal/large. They fit me fantastic, and they don't slip.

I use them on the bike as well as out and about, they fold flat so can stash in jersey pocket when I don't want glasses on for a while.

I've just had an email from Sungod saying if I refer someone via my link and they buy a pair I get a free pair. Good for next 7 days. Not sure if anyone else has had the same email but worth considering if you're recommending them to other people. Annoyingly just bought my son a pair last week.

Update: I bought a pair of Renegades with the 4KO Polarised lenses and they're very good. I'd say they are just as good as my Oakley Sliver glasses, which they seem to be a copy of anyway, certainly worth considering if you're looking for a new pair.

If anyone is looking for a pair message me on here and I can send you a link which gets me a discounted pair. (I did the same for @mahalo)

Has anyone got a pair of Renegades and Tempests? How do they compare?

I was thinking of getting some Tempests and the Renegades fit my fat head quite well

The INEOS cycling team has gone over to SunGod glasses from Oakley, which is quite a coupé.

I have the renegade and tempest, the tempest fit my fat head a little tighter than the renegade which is ideal as I wanted them for on the bike etc...

If you like the renegade and are looking for a more active pair I recommend the tempest but I would spend time looking at lens colours through their virtual glasses tool to get the most out of them for your activity.

I’ve got Vulcans photochromic. Stunning clarity, and no problem fitting my melon head.

Yes - i have a good few pairs of their goggles and sunglasses, very impressed by them and their service. So much so, i stumped up some cash and put it in their latest crowd funder.

Hi,

Does anyone know or understand how they get around offering no refunds?

The consumer credit act says 14 days for refunds.

Surely its not legal to state no refunds?

thanks

They claim everything is built to order and therefore custom, but when I ordered goggles earlier this year they agreed to return or exchange. Daughter loved and kept them though.

Reviving this thread as I was looking at some Sungods over the weekend and wanted a second (or third) opinion. Obviously their prices have gone up a fair chunk - you guys mentioned £85 or so, but they're now closer to £150 if you want polarised lenses with that. I was looking at Renegades, and they look OK, but how do you know if they'll fit you? Are there retail outlets anywhere?
